What is MASKNE and How to Treat it?

From August 1, it became mandatory to wear a face mask in crowded places, along with social distancing to protect against the spread of Covid-19.

However, wearing a mask for long hours can have an unfortunate side-effect: MASKNE

The term 'maskne', refers to redness, irritation and acne caused by wearing a face mask.

Wearing one for long hours can cause any oil, makeup and bacteria or dirt become trapped between the mask and your skin.

First step to tackle this issue is to adjust your skincare routine and moisturize with the right products and always, always, hydrate your skin.

Doing so will help to create a healthy barrier and replenish the lost hydration to calm your skin down and prevent further breakouts.
